Wimbledon’s our longest-distance sporting event route, at around 130 miles each way, which puts it in similar territory to our Heathrow airport run in terms of planning — an early departure to beat the M1/M25, and a driver who’s built in a proper buffer for security queues at the All England Club, which can take longer than people expect on finals weekend especially.
Because it’s such a long day, most Wimbledon bookings are for the bigger show court days — quarter-finals through to the finals — where guests are committed to a full day out rather than a quick visit, so we build the schedule around a full there-and-back day rather than treating it like a shorter local event.
